My father has gotten into genealogy lately as a hobby, and while I have
helped him some, I seem to have gotten off onto a side track of specific
interest in ancestors who served in the military.
So here are the ones I know of so far and what they did.
Bacon's Rebellion
William Hatcher
 | Born 1613 in England; died April 01,1680 in Henrico County, VA. |
 | Elected to House of Burgesses (Virginia St. Leg.) in 1644, 1649,1652, and 1654. |
 | Appointed a "Viewer" of tobacco by an act of the assembly in 1639. |
 | Had to beg the pardon of The Speaker of the House, Col. Edward Hill, on bended knee for calling an "atheist and a blasphemer." |
 | Bacons's Rebellion
 | Fined 10,000 lbs of tobacco and caske for his part in Bacon'sRebellion. |
 | This was reduced upon appeal to 8,000 lbs of dressed pork to be delivered to His Majesty's soldiers. |
 | The citizens of Henrico Co. sent a list of grievances to the King and
requested that they be corrected. This manuscript was signed by "Wilton
Elam, John Pleasants, Solomon Knibbe, and Will Hatcher. |

Revolution
Captain Samuel Carrick
 | I am a direct descendent of John Carrick. We believe that John and Samuel are
brothers. Actually we don't know why Samuel is a captain, but he was alive
at time of Revolutionary war. |
